Coach Mo grew-up in Colorado and started playing volleyball at age 11 with Front Range Volleyball Club and later with Boulder VBC. She attended California State University Sacramento (Sacramento State) where she was a four-year starter at setter (1996-1999) for the Hornets helping her team to three NCAA appearances (1997, 1998, 1999).

 

During her collegiate playing career, Mo was named Big Sky Conference Freshman of the Year (1996), First Team All Conference (1997, 1998, 1999), Big Sky Conference tournament MVP (1998, 1999), Big Sky Conference regular season MVP (1999) and California State University Sacramento Female Athlete of the Year (1999). She is currently ranked 4th in Division I history with 6,520 career assists and 19th all-time with 13.26 per set career average assists (Maureen Rafferty). In 2010, Mo was inducted into Sacramento State’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Coach Mo is no stranger to working with junior athletes. She has coached for USAV junior clubs within the Northern California, Garden Empire, Old Dominion and New England regions. 

 

In addition to working with junior athletes, Mo has also had the opportunity to coach at the Division I level. Before taking over as Head Coach at Seton Hall University, she served as the first assistant and was elected by her peers as the Big East AVCA Assistant coaches committee representative. Most recently she worked with the Men’s Division I program at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield CT. 

 

Since 2007, Coach Mo has also worked with athletes of all ages as a Certified Personal Trainer with additional certifications in Performance Enhancement (PES), Corrective Exercise (CES), Fitness Nutrition (FNS) , Behavior Change (BCS) and Group training (GPTS) earned through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

 

Coach Mo began coaching men’s volleyball at Doctor Phillips High School in 2020. She has led Orlando Gold young men since 2018. 

 

Coach Mo has two sons. Both have worn the Gold and Black.
