Fun Fact: His values as a coach mirror those he defended in service

At an early age, Rodrigo rose through the ranks to become one of the youngest sales managers in his region for a Fortune 500 company. In that role, he managed an eight-figure annual budget, nine sales departments, and approximately 97 employees.

The September 11th attacks forever changed his life trajectory.

Upon earning his law degree, Rodrigo served just over eleven years on active duty in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

His progressive assignments build on Rodrigo’s early foundations. As a young prosecutor, Rodrigo developed a reputation for managing large scale, complex criminal prosecution subjected to senior military, national media, and congressional attention. This led to his specialized training and experience in complex criminal prosecutions requiring the management of considerable multi-service and multi-agent cooperation.

While doing so, Rodrigo served as the principal legal advisor to all classified and unclassified Air Force administrative investigations in the National Capital Region (DC area).

Based on this accumulated experience, Rodrigo was competitively selected to managed one of the larges and most prominent criminal defense agencies in the Air Force, responsible for a substantial budget, a staff, and the representation of over 6,500 Airmen stationed on Joint Base Andrews, now-Bolling Air Force Base, the Pentagon, any National Guardsmen deployed overseas, and nearly all Air Force Reservists on active orders. Several cases of which required managing national media and Congressional attention.

After his assignment representing Airmen before the United States Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals, the United States Court of Criminal Appeals for the Armed Forces, and the Supreme Court of the United States, Rodrigo was again competitively selected to represent the lead defendant in the 9/11 military commission, held on Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.

Upon determining it was the appropriate time to hang up his books and return home, Rodrigo launched his law firm Caruco Law, PLLC, in 2023. He continues to represent his community in state and federal court in Florida, his brothers and sisters still at arms, and his fellow veterans.

Rodrigo first met Orlando Gold Boys Volleyball Club in 2010. Though extensive experience in beach, he had limited indoor experience. A multi-sport athlete, Rodrigo was primarily a basketball point guard.

Since returning home, all these years leather, Rodrigo is intimately connected to Orlando Gold, it’s mission, and it’s purpose.

The values, and the culture of Orlando Gold, mirror exactly those same values, culture, and the mentorship Rodrigo spend more than a decade defending, and living.

When not in his law office, you will find Rodrigo coaching future Orlando Gold men and athletes, leading the club’s conditioning program through his several years experience as a CrossFit coach (currently CF-L2 credential), and a committed member of the social media team.
